Join Amanda Reimer from the Maine Appalachian Trail Club at Stratton Brook Hut for a free presentation into the alpine worlds of Maine. These “living museums” are home to unique plant communities, fascinating lichens and bryophytes, and resilient animals, all of which are adapted to survive in harsh, high-altitude conditions. Learn about the extraordinary nature of these ecosystems and what we can do to protect them for future generations.
Attendees may ski, snowshoe, or fat bike up to Stratton Hut. Be sure to bring a headlamp for the trek down, it will be dark by 6pm!
Coffee and tea are provided. Overnight guests already at the hut can relax and enjoy the pre-dinner talk.
