Maine Trail Finder is Maine’s premier resource for discovering people-powered trails from Kittery to Calais to Fort Kent, and it all began 10 years ago in the High Peaks region.
Nearly two million outdoor adventurers have relied on MTF to find maps and information for hundreds of trails statewide. You can find over 100 trails in the High Peaks region alone on our trails map. From skiing on the Narrow Gauge Pathway to paddling the Kennebago River or hiking in the Bigelows, visitors and locals alike can find the perfect outdoor adventure any time of year.
We want to direct adventurers right to your doorstep! Last year we launched Trailside Services on MTF because hikers, bikers, skiers, and paddlers also want to know where to find that après-ride beer, the best local grub, and great places to stay overnight. Visitors are also looking for gear shops and guides to help them better explore the High Peaks.
Thanks to support from the High Peaks Initiative – a collaboration of groups working in the region – businesses located in the High Peaks region (see map on this page) can get listed in MTF for a year at a reduced rate.
When you list your Trailside Service in MTF, your business will have its own page. Links to your listing will appear on detailed trail and calendar event pages based on proximity. All services will also appear on a fully searchable interactive map of Maine.
To take advantage of this great opportunity, sign up and use the offer code HIGHPEAKS by March 31, 2020. (You will need to create a free MTF account if you don't already have one.)
For more information and to learn about the benefits associated with promoting your business on MTF, read more on the Info & Listings page.
The High Peaks Initiative is a collaborative of conservation, public health, and community organizations working in the heart of Franklin County. The Initiative is interested in seeing the region's recreational economy thrive and views Maine Trail Finder as a key partner.
Through this unique deal, High Peaks businesses will be exposed to a broad and growing audience of trail users. All fees that are raised through this offer will be used by MTF to further promote the region's trails and outdoor experiences. Think: more trail postings, outdoor event promotion, blog posts, or custom badge challenges that encourage trail users to stay longer in the area.
As MTF kicks off its next 10 years, it is fitting that this exciting new initiative comes from Franklin County, right where this website began!
