The Capisic Park Trail runs from one end of Capisic Park to the other, following the length pf Capisic Pond. The moderately sloping dirt path through woods and fields from Macy Street (off Capisic Street) to Lucas Street (off Brighton Avenue). Several undeveloped side trails offer exploration of the pond and surrounding wetlands. Benches are provided along the trail. A very popular birdwatching area--the park provides a refuge for migrant and nesting birds, particularly warblers in the Spring.
The park is owned and managed by the City of Portland, with assistance from Portland Trails and the Friends of Capisic Pond. Open dawn to dusk.
Capisic Pond Park is one of the City of Portland's designated "off-leash" areas, where dog owners can walk dogs without a leash, as long as the dog in under voice control.
