Description

With a network of trails over eight miles long, the Forest Legacy property offers hiking opportunities of varying length and levels of difficulty from moderate to advanced. The trails connect to four lake-front campsites managed by the Stephen Phillips Memorial Preserve and available for use with permission from Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust. The 1,200 acre parcel was acquired by the Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust from a Timber company in 1994 utilizing federal conservation funds from the Forest Legacy Program. The property has been kept as a working forest and is managed for forest products production using sustainable forest techniques.
