The Hedgehog Mountain Trail is a forest floor hiking trail leading up the south ridge of Hedgehog Mountain. Though the trail is relatively short, only 0.75 miles to the summit, it is fairly steep and is a good workout. Shortly after the trail begins, it leads through the yard of an old hunting camp. Once the summit is reached, hikers can relax at a picnic table and enjoy the splendid view of the North Maine Woods, Portage Lake, Fish River, and St. Froid Lake to the south and west. On clear days, Carr Pond Mountain can be seen to the southwest, as well as Deboullie Mountain and Black Mountain to the northwest.
This is a carry-in, carry-out area; please be respectful.
