Description

Huston Landing is further proof that small is beautiful. Keep an eye out for horseshoe crabs, eagles, and osprey.

A gift to the DRA in 2006 from Huston Dodge, a local antiquarian, the preserve is named for Mr. Dodge’s mother’s family, who settled in this very spot in 1740, landing just to the south.

Trailhead Information

From US Route 1 in Damariscotta head south on ME Route 129 for 1.6 miles. A small pull off marked by a sign on the right allows parking for just a couple of vehicles. The trail heads down through the field to a large blue marker. Follow the trail down toward the shore past a prominent boulder (glacial erratic).
