Description

The Town of Veazie owns the 22-acre McPhetres Forest (also known as McPhetres Farm Forest) behind US Route 2 and Davis Drive homes. It contains distinct hardwood, mixed-wood, and softwood forest stands, including a white oak grove and a century old white pine stand. Topography is rolling with terrain generally going up hill as you go back into the property. Highly erodible soils and multiple streams limit recreation to foot traffic only.

Other Information

This land is owned and managed by the Town of Veazie, with volunteer contributions from the Veazie Land Association. Orono Land Trust/Veazie Land Association hold 2 trail improvement days per year, one in Spring (near Earth Day) and one in Fall (usually October). Trail users are encouraged to contact the manager for potential volunteer trail improvement work.
