Conveniently located in downtown Millinocket, the Michael Michaud Walking & Biking Trail is a paved loop trail along the edge of Millinocket Stream. This trails passes through some forested areas, a riverside public park, residential neighborhoods, as well as by two schools. Local volunteers have spent countless hours planting flowers, trees, and shrubs creating a pleasant landscape for the walker or casual cyclist to enjoy.
The trail passes by both the Stearns Junior & Senior High School and Granite Street Elementary. The Millinocket Historical Society is also just off the trail, offering a glimpse into the town's rich history as a focal point of the timber industry in the Katahdin Region.
This trail is plowed during the winter, providing walkers and bikers with an easily-accessible place to stay active year round.
