The Noble Hill Preserve features mixed woodlands and several acres of open fields as well as more than a quarter mile of Kennebec River shoreline and interesting vernal pools which abound with life in the spring. This 20 acre preserve was donated to the Phippsburg Land Trust by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cunningham of Lincoln, MA before he sold the large farmhouse that had been his family’s summer residence. A one mile trail follows the north line to the shore of the Kennebec River, turns southerly for about 1,500 feet along the river front, and finally loops through woodlands and fields back to the beginning. A second, shorter, trail begins just north of Blaisdell Drive. It runs easterly to a jumble of boulders in a horse pasture. The rocks are believed to be what remains of the foundation of 1734 Fort Noble. Nearby is a seven acre meadow on which an easement has been granted to the Land Trust by Steve and Sherry Masters. The easement allows for low impact public use, and prevents further development.
Dogs are allowed, but there are horses in the field next to the preserve, so they must be controlled.

Phippsburg Land TrustFrom Rte. 209 at Winnegance proceed 1.5 miles to the Fiddlers Reach Rd. and turn left. Follow Fiddlers Reach Rd 1.5 miles to the gravel parking lot on the Right. Parking here allows access to the Noble Hill Preserve. To access the Fort site, walk back up Fiddlers Reach road past the first farm on the South side of the road from the parking lot. You will see a foot path that accesses the fort site, please do not stray off this path; as it is an access easement only, and adjacent to a working farm.
