The Paper Mill trail provides a gentle walking or biking experience along the Sabattus River under a canopy of oaks, pines, and occasional apple or poplar. There are many opportunities to enjoy the the river on the southern portion of the current trail or the rolling fields of the northern section.
The kiosk at the Sebattus River boat launch and another historical sign along the trail provide the historical background of the area, the more recent history of the trail, and information about other outdoor opportunities in Lisbon.
Future plans for the trail include extending a section further south to follow the Androscoggin River towards Lisbon Falls.
