This 50-acre property contains a trail on the northern side of the property loop through upland forest along the edge of Gull Crest fields, then heads south through two areas of open fields and meadows, on the way into an older section of upland forest. Tall pines and rolling terrain continue down to the edges of the Pollack Brook headwater wetlands to the east, and to Pollack Creek itself on the south.
The trail on the southern part of the property winds through the mossy hummocks and hollows of a forested wetland of Pollack Creek. This self-contained property can be navigated on the Eagle Scout-constructed boardwalks even in wet weather. These cool, moist woods are home to many wildflowers and ferns among mixed conifer-hardwood forest.
CELT is currently raising funds to build a bridge to connect the north and south sides of the property year-round, but until then, watch your step!
Please cherish and help care for this natural preserve, by limit trail use to daytime hours only, carry out all waste, and staying on marked trails.
