This hilly trail includes many ups and downs. To the end of the main trail and back is 1.3 miles round-trip, with optional additional short loops off the main trail along the way. From the end of the trail there are views of the Cousins River, Royal River, and Casco Bay.

Or from Bow Street in Freeport Village, head south on South Street 0.9 miles to South Freeport Road, and then continue straight onto South Freeport Road and go 3 miles to Lambert Road on the left.
The trailhead is on Lambert Road, 0.8 miles from the intersection with South Freeport Road. Park in the turnout on the left side of Lambert Road. (Be sure to leave space for a school bus to turn around.) From the parking area, walk along Lambert Road; the trail begins on the right before the first driveway and is marked with an FCT sign, near a plank over the ditch.
There is no parking at this location in the winter, November 1 to April 15.
