Description

Surry Hill’s 337 acres include diverse stands of regenerating forest and a 600-foot hilltop, complete with fields that offer spectacular views. In additional to the recreational opportunities, conserving this property protects water quality and valuable wildlife habitat. One of the primary management goals for this property is to help mitigate climate change through carbon sequestration.

The multi-use trails include a 0.7-mile loop heading south from the trailhead, which travels through the woods with low slopes. The trail continues with an additional 0.5 loop to the south, from which there is a 0.2-mile trail uphill to the summit of the hilltop. Fields at the summit offer offer panoramic views of the surrounding lakes and Mt. Washington. The trail from the parking lot directly to the summit without looping is 0.8 miles one-way.
