Looping clockwise, the trail begins by heading south along a carriage road that follows the west shore of Bubble Pond. There are dramatic views to the western face of Cadillac Mountain across the pond. The south end of the pond is reached after 0.6 miles, and the loop continues on the carriage road through the woods. 1.4 miles from the trailhead, to the Bubble & Jordan Pond Path which departs from the carriage road on the right.
After 0.3 miles the Bubble & Jordan Pond Path, which skirts the southern end of Pemetic Mountain and includes just a gentle ascent, meets a 4-way junction with the Triad Trail and Pemetic East Ridge Trail. The loop continues by heading right on the East Cliff Trail. This 0.3-mile section of trail climbs steadily and steeply up the side of Pemetic, through the woods but often over and up large rocks and boulders.
The trail emerges from the woods just before the junction with the Pemetic Ridge Trail. The loop continues on the Pemetic Ridge Trail to the right. The 0.5 miles north along the open ridge to the summit is of a moderate grade, over large slabs of granite and with plenty of views to the south, east, and west, and 360-degree views at the open summit.
From the summit, the trail continues along the ridge, heading right at a junction about 0.1 miles past the summit. The trail descends relatively gently over granite slabs mixed with shrubs and small trees for the first half-mile mile. It then descends at a moderate grade with some steep sections through the woods, with many roots and rocks to be navigated over along the way. As the trail approaches Bubble Pond, glimpses of the water can be seen through the trees. The trail emerges on the carriage road by Bubble Pond; across the carriage road there is a shoreside path leading the last 0.1 mile back to the parking area.
