Description

The Purple Loop is a wide, multi-use trail that passes along the shorefront of Little Duck Pond, and offers some great views of the White Mountains. The Purple Loop connects to the Lowell Preserve Red Trail, which can in turn be used to access Blackstrap Preserve trails in Falmouth.

The three-quarter mile section from the trailhead to the Little Duck Pond will be fully accessible as of 2025. Currently, it has a 12-foot wide gravel surface, some steep sections (up to 10% grade), and seasonally soft surfaces. Once the reconstruction efforts are completed, it will have a crushed stone surface, and no steep or soft sections.

The Teal Trail is also wide and multi-use, and includes the best mountain view in the network.

The Blue and Green trails are technical trails. They are more narrow and steeper in places, with some sharp turns. These are ideal for mountain bikers and trail runners, but walkers are welcome to use them as well.
