The trail hugs a field edge before entering the woods and soon climbs steeply up a cleared pipeline corridor. The trail jogs right into the woods before again following the pipeline corridor to the ridgeline. The trail turns north and follows the top of Goosepecker Ridge through a variety of forest types and sloping fields with expansive views before coming out on to Freedom Pond Road near Freedom Village (red blazes). On the south end of the Goose Ridge trail, at Penny Road, the Goose Ridge trail continues and connects with the Northern Headwaters trail network.
Please respect that this trail is on privately-owned property and help keep this open to the public. No overnight camping is allowed. A mid-section of this trail is closed Monday-Saturday (open on Sundays only) during deer rifle hunting season (typically October through November) but portions of the trail north from Penny Road and south from Freedom Pond Road are still accessible.
