The preserve features scrub-shrub habitat, created by a recent timber harvest, that hosts relatively rare early-successional species, including song birds. The trails pass by several vernal pools, which provide important habitat for frogs and salamanders. These are great trails for those interested in wildlife and birding.
The Blue Trail is a 1.2 mile loop. The Orange Trail continues from the Blue Trail to form a larger loop of 2.3 miles.
