Description

These forest trails are pack groomed for skiing and snowshoeing during the winter. The trails traverse some slight grades along the way. The 0.7 mile Powerline Trail leads to a 5 mile loop bisected by the 1.4 mile Ridgeline Trail, providing options for treks of various distances. There are great opportunities to see wildlife, and there is very good birding.

Trailhead Information

From the south, take ME-161 north from US-1 in Caribou. After 3.6 miles, take a right to stay on ME-161 (New Sweden Road). Continue on ME-161 for an additional 13.5 miles to Moose Run Road on the left.

From the north, take ME-161 south from US-1 in Fort Kent. Go 26.7 miles on ME-161 to Moose Run Road on the right. 

There is a powerline clearing about 500 feet down Moose Run Road. The trail begins just past the powerline clearing on the left (south) side of Moose Run Road, with plenty of space to park along the road. There is additional access to the trail system 0.4 farther down Moose Run Road.
