Description

This hiking trail starts from an unmarked trailhead but is well-defined and easy to spot from Plummer Hill Road. The trail climbs steeply for 0.5 miles before reaching a rock ledge lookout over Keoka Lake. From here, the trail ascends more moderately for 0.1 miles and finally reaches the granite ledges of the summit. Despite trees, there are fantastic views that open up from the east to the south. A large glacial erratic, known as 'The Bear Cave' lies hidden within the trees behind the summit. A deep cleft runs through the boulder and there are small caves to explore.

Other Information

Trail erosion is a concern on the trail; foot traffic only please.

Beautiful hike! Followed a reviewers comment on the White trail they discovered at the top and took it down from the top to Grover Road. Once you hit the road it’s about a 1 mile easy downhill walk to the car park. The White trail starts with cairns to follow from the top but there are blazes and a couple more cairns along the way. It is a gentler, less steep trail over all.

A lovely and well laid-ouit trail to a neat little summit with a limited, yet stunning view. Don't miss the wonderful boulder garden 250' north of the viewpoint in the woods.
