This trail winds though rolling conifer forest and hosts two observation platforms providing views of the salt marsh. Several pairs of bald eagle nest nearby, and waterfowl and shorebirds can be observed in the salt marsh. The trail is marked with blue paint blazes on the trees as well as yellow diamond US Fish & Wildlife Service markers.
The Frenchman Bay Conservancy maintains a hiking trail that begins near our kiosk and heads north.
