Description

Downeast Coastal Conservancy purchased the 100 acre St. Regis Park on the Middle River property in 2013 and began building trails for walking, areas for picnicking and clearing a sledding hill. It is one of two properties in the Two Rivers Conservation Area.

The trails begin in the grassy area atop the hill to the north of the parking area. Several loop trails allow hikers the opportunity to explore fields and forests punctuated with panoramic views of the Middle River. Blazes are blue, red, and orange.

Other Information

Please practice carry-in/carry-out and leave no trace ethics. Fires, camping, ATVs and snowmobiles are not permitted.

A hand carry boat launch providing access to the Middle River is located along the Down East Sunrise Trail, look for the sign. The parking spaces nearest the launch are reserved for the Machias Valley Farmer's Market, please respect their area by not parking in these spaces while paddling.

In an ongoing project, the hill overlooking the Middle River is being cleared for winter sledding. Please sled at your own risk when there is snow.

Nice short trail for little legs, would be better if it wasn't so grown up though.
