Description

Take a walk in the woods and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. The three quarter-mile loop trail meanders through the woods and ends at the upper parking lot and gatehouse/maintenance shed buildings. There are several smaller trails off the loop. The trails are clearly marked, and intertwine with each other so that you can walk shorter or longer distances.

While on the trails, you may see or hear some wildlife such as deer, foxes, porcupines, owls, crows, squirrels, and turkeys. The trees provide plenty of shade on a hot sunny day. The trail consists of a dirt, forest floor with gravel in some areas and tree roots and small stones in some sections. The width varies from 5-7 feet, with a maximum grade of 3%.

Other Information

There is an entrance fee to access the beach during seasonal hours (normally from Memorial Day to Labor Day).

No pets allowed beyond the upper parking lot from April 1 - October 31.
