The Union Street Greenway follows the edge of a baseball field and leads to a long, three-flight stairway that goes up and over Dennison Street. The path then passes through open fields in Union Street Gully and crosses Chestnut Street, passing basketball courts to end at Union Street Bypass.

The pathway is accessed from Pettingill Park in Auburn, off Pettingill Park Road. Parking is available in front of Pettingill Pond where the paved path heads off just south of the parking area. The trail can also be accessed from Hampshire Street and Union Street Bypass.
