Description

The Bluff Trail follows the Morong Cove shoreline to the Bluff Picnic Pavilion and the Straight Bay Overlook. Both have spectacular views west in the undeveloped southern half of Straight Bay. Evenings offer one of the most beautiful sunsets in Lubec!

The Isthmus Trail begins at the Bluff Picnic Pavilion and follows the shoreline to Coffins Neck Road at the isthmus to Coffins Neck. Return via the same route or turn right on Coffins Neck Road to return to the Morong Cove trailhead.

Please note: Like much of the Maine coastline, the Morong Cove shoreline contains high bluffs. Please keep a safe distance from these high cliffs.

Other Information

This area is incredibly valuable for waterfowl and shorebirds, enjoy the scenery and please limit to disturbance to wildlife by:

  • Maintaining distance from shorebirds and waterfowl especially during nesting season, May through mid-June.

Morong Cove is open dawn to dusk, from May to October. The parklands offer public access and recreational use including walking, picnicking, hiking, biking, camping, and paddling in Cobscook Bay.
